A garment is the sum of where it was made.

Wakayama

Where our loopwheel jersey is knitted on vintage circular machines that run at one-twentieth the speed of industry standard. The result is a fabric with no tension stress — softer with every wash, stronger with every year. There are fewer than thirty of these machines left in the world. We use seven of them.

Biella

The alpine valley that has spun wool for European houses since 1663. Our heavyweight terry — used in the Maestro Hoodie and Atelier Crewneck — is a custom blend of merino and long-staple cotton, looped by a mill whose name we do not print. They have asked us not to. So we don't.

Porto

Portuguese cotton, ring-spun and combed twice. The reason a Vinchi tee holds its shape into the fifth year. Our partner mill — three generations old, still family-run — cuts and finishes every shirt by hand. We send back garments that fall outside one millimetre of spec. They never argue.

— A Manifesto —

We do not believe in seasons. We believe in garments worn until they cannot be worn — then mended, then worn again.

We do not believe in trends. We believe in the quiet that arrives when a thing is simply correct.

We do not believe in scale. We make two hundred of each piece. When they are gone, they are gone.

This is the only luxury we recognise: a garment that outlives the moment it was bought in.
